Ketamine, sometimes known as 'Special K' is more commonly known as horse tranquilizer - simply because that is its main drug use.

The effects of Ketamine

When consumed by humans, ketamine creates what is known as 'dissociative anaesthesia'. It generally created the effect of dissociation (being separated from the body) in humans and includes a loss of physical sensory perception (analgesia and anesthesia) and may also induce hallucinations (although these are not usually very strong at low doses and can only be observed in a darkened room).

Ketamine is an ideal drug to escape from reality - because of its strongly dissociating effects - users feel disconnected from themselves and their surrounding environment. At high doses, users may experience what is known as a K-hole. This is an apparent complete separation of reality into 'other' realms.
